It is Said in Quran
""The night of al qadr is better than a thousand months." (verse 3 Surah Al Qadr).
This means the worship performed in this night brings more reward than that worship carried out for the period of a thousand months.
As Rasoolullah (s.a.w.) has stated in a hadith
"Whosoever stood up in front of Allah on the night of qadr with Iman and true conviction of attaining reward from Allah, in return, Allah will forgive all his previous sins." (Muslim)
The night of Decree occurs in odd-numbered nights during the last ten days of Ramadan. It may be on twenty-first, twenty-third, twenty-fifth, twenty-seventh or twenty-ninth. It is narrated by Aisha (R.A):
“Allah’s Messenger (P.B.U.H) used to practice Itikaaf in the last ten nights and say: ‘Seek out Lailatul-Qadr in the (odd nights) of the last ten days of Ramadhan.” (Bukhari, Muslim)
One should strive hard in worship during the last ten days of Ramadan. The Prophet (P.B.U.H) used to worship in the last ten days of Ramadan as he never did at any other time. One should pray, read Quran and make Dua’s. it is reported from Aisha (R.A):
“The Prophet (P.B.U.H) used to exert himself in the last ten nights more than he would at other times.” (Muslim)
If one misses this blessed night it is as if he has missed a lot. Therefore every Muslim should pray and hope for the great reward associated with this night.
